Hayes' exhibition at Rhona Hoffman Gallery will present biomorphically shaped, translucent silicone vessels housing live trees and plants, as well as live blown glass terrariums, and an operative bird-nesting house installed in a tree-like aluminum structure. Paula Hayes works with both ephemeral and organic mediums, addressing the relationship between nature and culture. In this exhibition, Hayes elevates the garden from the genre of landscaping to the embodiment of a living artistic relationship.
